2008 Burger survey

When it comes to burgers my one and only motto is "keep it real".

My personal favorites

Coffee Parisien (4, rue Princesse 75006 Paris)

Crowded french adaptation of an american diner, in the hip St Germain area, the place is packed with good-looking young sarkozists. This place has a very wide selection of american dishes, from Caesar salad to pancakes. Burgers are especially good, not too big so you can eat it without making a mess. It's my personal favorite, they also serve their burgers with harsh browns instead of fries which is nice for a change. And the waitresses are good-looking.
They also have locations in the 16th and in Neuilly.

PDG (5, rue du Dragon 75006 Paris)

Not so far from Coffee Parisien is PDG. I went there once, the place is small but nice and very well located. They propose fancy burgers (tuna, chicken, blue cheese...), but I prefer the original. I guess I'm narrow-minded but a burger is a burger. They have their buns made in a bakershop, their nicely soft and golden.
They have pretty good wines too, I had a Jean-Luc Colombo Côtes du Rhône there, it's the perfect match with a burger.

Place Verte/Charbon (105/109, rue Oberkampf 75011 Paris)

These two restaurants have the same owners, Place Verte has a nice terrace where you can smoke, they mostly have italian-inspired food which is is so-so, but their burger is great. The inside of the restaurant is rather ugly, over-decorated.
Chardon is just next door, it used to be popular café now it's a cool place.
If you don't take a burger you'll be disappointed, that's for sure, because the rest of the menu is not so great.
